HS MATH, BIOLOGY & FORENSIC SCIENCE

Kym has taught in three states over the past 23 years. She has graduated 2 home school students of her own and enjoys teaching high-school students. As a teacher she most enjoys pouring into her students a love of our creation and STEM. She also tutors and does advising for high school and college students as well as volunteers as a leader for 4-H.

Mrs Simonis enjoys living in the country with many animals, breeding horses, genetic research, genealogy, reading, photography, and good coffee with friends.

HS MATH, CHEMISTRY & PHYSICS

Lynn has been a teacher for 37 years, earning her degree from Berry College in Education in 1988. She has taught various age levels from elementary through high school in various educational settings - public, private, and homeschool. She homeschooled her son, who graduated in 2017. Mrs. Parker also tutors and has done advising for the homeschool community for many years. She is passionate about education!

MS/HS HISTORY & HUMANITIES

Valerie has homeschooled her children for over fifteen years and her family has been blessed by the Charlotte Mason philosophy of education. As her older children entered high school, she created the History & Humanities class to bring other high schoolers and middle schoolers together to feast on living books and ideas. She also equips local groups and leaders to teach high school students using this Charlotte Mason-inspired class and curriculum.

She enjoys teaching History & Humanities, Shakespeare, science and fine arts classes to all ages. She lives in Argyle, where she enjoys reading, art, dark chocolate and republishing classic books with classic art. Her oldest child is in college, she has two high schoolers, one middle schooler and two elementary-aged children.

Institute for Excellence in Writing & Speech

Lyndsey is the mother of 3 children, ranging from middle to high school. She loves being a wife, mother, and an educator. Having been in the field of education for over 15 years, Lyndsey has taught a variety of grade levels, from Pre-K to high school, and has held leadership roles in both the classroom and school administration. Her teaching philosophy is centered around empowering students to succeed, whether it's in English, math, debate, or public speaking. She strives to meet each student where they are and to differentiate lessons wherever possible. Currently, she also coaches the Youth and Government teams and directs plays and musicals, continuing to inspire students to become confident, capable change-makers. Above all, she thoroughly enjoys the opportunity to integrate the Word of God and Christ-centered values into her lessons.

Spanish 1

Liz has taught bilingual education for DISD for three years and Spanish Immersion for four years in HEB-ISD. She has taught various grade levels in these positions. Since then, she has homeschooled her children for over 10 years. During that time, she also served as a tutor in the Classical Conversations program. Recently, she has brought her passion for the Spanish language forming a Spanish Club that meets every Friday to enjoy conversations, games and Spanish delights with no nutritional value!

Spanish II

Nayurel Robertson is originally from Costa Rica, where Spanish is her first language. She holds a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction and has been dedicated to teaching Spanish since 1992. Over the years, she has taught in both public and private schools, as well as homeschool organizations, at various levels, including elementary, middle school, high school, and college. With over three decades of experience, Nayurel connects with students of all ages, helping them not only improve their language skills but also gain a deeper appreciation for Spanish-speaking cultures. She also integrates Christian values into her teaching, fostering a compassionate and thoughtful approach to learning. Nayurel is excited to teach Spanish II and bring her wealth of experience and passion for the Spanish language to our homeschool community.
