Course Description
In an interactive, Christian environment, the student gains an appreciation for writing and the opportunity to master the structure and style of excellent writing. Timely feedback and reinforcement of skills increase the opportunity for students to gain confidence. This course will prepare your student for college writing as it explores grammar, form, and structure. Writing assignments and quality literature blend seamlessly so students experience less stress as they write about a variety of topics.

Speech
Course Description
This speech course, through creative and interactive activities, offers students the opportunity to develop strong communication and public speaking skills. Throughout the semester, students will explore various speech types, including informative, persuasive, and demonstrative, while learning how to effectively organize, deliver, and analyze presentations. Emphasis will be placed on building confidence, mastering body language, using vocal techniques, and understanding the importance of audience engagement. Students will also practice critical listening and feedback skills to strengthen their abilities as both speakers and audience members. By the end of the course, students will have a solid foundation in speech-making and be prepared to speak confidently in a variety of public settings.

Spanish II
Spanish II builds upon the foundational skills acquired in Spanish I and focuses on expanding vocabulary, grammar, and conversational abilities. Students will deepen their understanding of verb tenses such as the preterite and imperfect, as well as learn how to express themselves in more complex sentences. The course emphasizes cultural exploration through topics like traditions, geography, history, and current events in Spanish-speaking countries. Additionally, students will practice listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills through a variety of activities, including dialogues, group projects, and written assignments. By the end of the course, students will be better equipped to communicate in Spanish with greater confidence and understanding of the language’s cultural context.
